Job Description

IBM Mainframe Specialists are responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining programs and software applications on mainframe systems. They enhance existing software systems and participate in agile software development practices. They review application code to identify critical defects and provide necessary fixes. They collaborate with other teams to develop, design, and troubleshoot software applications. They are also responsible for full system development life cycles, integration testing, and acceptance testing.

Required Skills and Experiences

Educational Qualification

Bachelor of Science Degree – Computer Science or related field

Specific Qualifications

Japanese language: N3 & above. English business fluency

Total Experience

Experience: - 8+ years IT delivery experience

- Tier 1 insurance carrier transformation experience, preferred - Familiar with commonly used insurance system packages, preferred

Insurance Knowledge: - Comprehensive knowledge of insurance product definition, rating engine, underwriting rules, regulatory reporting

Technical Skills: - Knowledge of COBOL/Assembler/JCL/CICS/IMSDB/zOS Connect.

- Mastery in IBM mainframe platform environment setup

- Experience in integration of IBM mainframe and open systems

Leadership: - Exhibits confidence in self and others; inspires and motivates others to perform well with excellent coaching skills.
