Full Stack Engineer 4 - Mainframe DB2 DBA

Overview: We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer - Mainframe DB2 to join and help lead our database engineering and software operations team. Our team brings together experts across systems architecture, software development, database administration, and mainframe platform engineering. This role is critical to our success, focusing on building, modernizing, and maintaining highly reliable, secure, scalable, and resilient DB2 data platforms and integration software that power our core banking and payment processing systems.

What You’ll Do: - Provide technical leadership and guidance for database administration activities across core mainframe DB2 environments, ensuring maximum availability, security, and performance. - Design, implement, and support complex DB2 database configurations, system migrations, disaster recovery plans, and resiliency frameworks. - Collaborate with application development teams to perform query tuning, workload optimization, and database design reviews using performance monitoring tools. - Drive data protection and security initiatives, including the implementation and management of Pervasive Encryption and dataset security standards for DB2 platforms. - Integrate distributed and cloud connectivity solutions with mainframe DB2 systems to support modern architecture, RESTful API integrations, and application modernization efforts. - Develop and maintain technical documentation for system configurations, operational processes, and architectural designs. - Partner with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to support batch and online processing systems, payment compliance, and system enhancements.

Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering) - At least 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply) - At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies - At least 4 years of experience with IBM DB2 on mainframe platforms - At least 3 years of experience with mainframe utilities (IBM File Manager, IBM Z Workload Scheduler, IBM Batch Utilities, ISPF, or TSO) - At least 3 years of experience with DB2 performance tools (such as Omegamon for DB2, Query Workload Tuner, Query Monitor, IBM Performance Expert, or IBM Admin Tool Suite)

Preferred Qualifications: - 6+ years of experience as an Application Database Administrator or Systems Database Administrator - 5+ years of experience with distributed and cloud connectivity to IBM DB2 - 4+ years of experience with Pervasive Encryption for IBM DB2 or datasets - 5+ years of experience with DB2 performance tools (such as Omegamon for DB2, Query Workload Tuner, Query Monitor, IBM Performance Expert, or IBM Admin Tool Suite) - 3+ years of experience with mainframe application disaster recovery and system resiliency planning - 3+ years of experience with RACF, ACF2, or Top Secret security management - 2+ years of experience with x509 certificate management on z/OS - 3+ years of experience with payment gateways, payment security standards, and credit card processing systems - 3+ years of experience working in an Agile environment using Jira and team collaboration software such as Confluence - 3+ years of experience developing technical documentation for system designs, processes, and configurations - 5+ years of experience with COBOL programming and JCL - 3+ years of experience with VSAM file systems and dataset structures - 3+ years of experience with CICS transaction processing systems - 2+ years of experience with Python on z/OS or Mainframe RESTful API technologies - 3+ years of experience with source code and version control packages (such as Endevor or ChangeMan) - Experience participating in mainframe modernization initiatives - Experience mentoring junior database administrators or technical team members
