Senior Associate - Site Reliability Engineer at New York Life (Closed)

As part of the Cloud, DevOps, and Integrations team in our Field Experience Department, this position will solidify our foundations of DevOps and Engineering. We are seeking an Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on . This role will partner closely with development teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, observability, incident response, and overall platform reliability using modern DevOps and SRE practices. Previous development experience is a must, as this role will take an active role in modernizing implementations to the platform.

We are seeking candidates with a strong foundation in mainframe development and enterprise systems who are excited to expand their skills into AWS cloud engineering, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering practices.

Required Skills: · Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. · 10+ years professional experience in technology as a software engineer, programmer, architect, or similar role. · Well-seasoned mainframe development skills. · AWS Cloud development experience. · Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; Can work independently to solve complex technical issues. · Strong data, database, and data analytics skills, especially in relation to business understanding of the data and how technology solutions can evolve around this understanding.

Preferred Skills: · Existing knowledge of the NYL Tech and Data ecosystem a huge plus+++ · Event driven architecture and messaging services.
