Mainframe Platform Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineering Manager to lead our Mainframe Platform team in Limerick, which plays a vital role being part of our overall global platform engineering team.

What You’ll Do: Lead and manage the Mainframe Platform engineering team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable, and scalable solutions. Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of mainframe systems and applications. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement platform strategies, ensuring alignment with business goals which achieve our defined KSIs and KPIs. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance platform performance, security, and reliability to achieve in maximum platform availability. Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence which ensure future sustainability of the mainframe platform with new talent development.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or a related field. 10+ years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

Technical Expertise (Must Have): Expert knowledge of IBM z/OS internals System IPL, PARMLIB, PROCLIB, SYSRES and system initialization SMP/E software installation, maintenance, RSU and product lifecycle management JES2/JES3 architecture and operations RACF security administration and auditing z/OSMF and modern mainframe management tooling WLM, RMF, SMF and performance management USS/OMVS administration Sysplex, Coupling Facility and GDPS concepts Storage, DASD, Catalogs and DFSMS IBM MQ, Db2, CICS and IMS infrastructure knowledge REXX, CLIST, JCL and automation development
