2+ years of knowledge of IDMS Database logical and physical structures such as areas, files, segments, DMCLs, DB Name tables, and the relationships between them 2+ years knowledge of Schema, Subschema, and physical database DDL compilers both in batch and online 2+ years knowledge of physical database file and in-memory data structures related to IDMS databases 2+ years knowledge of the Integrated Data Dictionary (IDD), it's use to manage logical and physical IDMS database objects and the DDDL online and batch compilers Solid understanding of IDMS program development, the compilation process and use of the IDMS runtime environment under both local mode and central version Solid understanding of database access techniques and navigation with an emphasis on locking, concurrency and impacts to large multi-system/multi-threading/multi-tasking environments in a 24x7x365 setting 2+ years knowledge of IDMS tools, utilities and reporting facilities such as but not limited to: page expand, reorg, maintain index, restructure, IDMSDBAN, IDMSLOOK, IDMSRPTS, PRINT SPACE, PRINT PAGE, etc. Solid knowledge of problem identification and mitigation techniques across a variety of scenarios and situations involving IDMS
