We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Application Support specialist with 10–14 years of handson expertise in COBOL, JCL, , & to support Billing Applications. The ideal candidate should be open to learning new technologies and AI tools.
Responsibilities: Lead billing production support by monitoring task performance, coaching team members, and providing feedback to developers and onshore peers. Quality Control: Assist in identifying and resolving defects; ensure adherence to quality standards. Problem Solving: Act as the first point of escalation for the offshore team and primary contact for business users; assist with implementing solutions. Training and Development: Leverage KT documentation to train new staff, cross-train existing team members, and support skill development. Process Improvement: Suggest and implement improvements that increase efficiency and system stability. Investigate root causes for recurring functional issues and propose preventive actions. Analyze business process flows and identify gaps or improvement areas in mainframe applications. Maintain detailed incident logs, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) documents, and functional SOPs. Provide timely updates to users and stakeholders on incident status and resolution. Prepare and share regular reports on incident trends, SLA compliance, and functional health. Document functional issues, resolutions, and workarounds in the knowledge base. Participate in modernization initiatives and explore integration with new technologies and AI tools.
10–14 years of experience in mainframe application support (COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, VSAM). Advanced proficiency in COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS, and VSAM. Expert skills in debugging and troubleshooting tools such as FileAid, Xpeditor, and Abend-Aid. Experience with batch scheduling tools and production control. Proficiency in software configuration/change management tools (e.g., ServiceNow). Expert at writing complex SQL queries and using database tools like SPUFI. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Experience in the insurance domain is a plus. Nice to Have: Java, WebSphere, Azure, Automation, and AI skills.
