COBOL Developer What does a successful Cobol Developer do at Fiserv? What you will do:

Develop and maintain moderately complex to complex software components of the business application system utilizing available developer tools. Create, execute, and review test plans, defining and establishing test data for thorough testing processes. Create and maintain comprehensive software documentation to ensure clarity and ease of future maintenance. Query and report system data using advanced reporting tools. Collaborate with business units and senior IT staff to define and document system changes, obtaining necessary approvals.

What you will need to have:

5+ years of experience in software application development. 5+ years of experience with COBOL in a mainframe environment. 5+ years of experience with MVS/JCL. 5+ years of experience with DB2, SQL, CICS, and VSAM. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience. What would be great to have:

2+ years of experience with SAS or WPS. 3+ years of experience with formalized software development lifecycle methodologies. Strong experience with design concepts, philosophies, and tools for application development. Experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Visio. Experience with storage and retrieval of information in databases and other indexed storage methods.
