DB2 DBA- Performance Tuning

Objectives

- DB2 Infrastructure Knowledge: Strong understanding of DB2 infrastructure components, including storage tuning, tablespace management, buffer pool configuration, and I/O optimization to ensure efficient resource utilization and sustained database performance. - AWS: Expertise on AWS concepts and managing servers hosted on AWS platform. - Performance Tuning and Optimization: Persistently observe database performance and undertake query tuning activities to boost efficiency. Detect and address performance bottlenecks through query optimization and resource distribution. - Health Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Utilize tools like AWS CloudWatch and Dynatrace to monitor database health. Diagnose and resolve database issues to reduce downtime and ensure seamless operations. - Collaboration with Application Team: Partner closely with the Application Team to support SQL-related tasks and optimize database queries. Aid in the integration of applications with DB2 LUW databases. - DB2 Migration: Experience with server migrations, stored procedures, triggers, and complex queries. - Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup strategies to safeguard data and ensure its availability. Conduct regular tests of recovery procedures to confirm that data can be swiftly restored in the event of a failure. - Security and Compliance: Establish security protocols to protect databases and ensure adherence to organizational policies and industry standards. Perform regular security audits and apply necessary patches to defend against vulnerabilities. - Coordination with Central Team: Work in tandem with the Central team to oversee AWS infrastructure and Dynatrace services, ensuring thorough management of database performance and health. - Knowledge and exposure in AI ,LLM.

Database Management and Maintenance: Supervise the functioning and upkeep of DB2 LUW databases to guarantee their reliability and effectiveness. Carry out regular database administration tasks, such as applying updates and patches

- DB2 Expertise and Certification - SQL Knowledge - Linux Administration Skills - Performance Tuning and Optimization - Backup and Recovery Strategies - ITSM Tools Familiarity (e.g., ServiceNow) - Network and Storage Understanding - Strong Written and Spoken English - Collaboration and Communication Skills - Security and Compliance Awareness - Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Abilities - ITIL Foundation Knowledge (Preferred) - AI knowledge preffered
