Position Description: Designs, architects, builds, and automates customized data pipelines that integrate multiple ingress sources and consumers, including Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and back-end batch applications (Common Business-Oriented Language (COBOL)), to power user-facing web applications across mainframe and distributed technology environments. Analyzes and designs data flows for mainframe and web-based brokerage and equity compensation application development. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions by developing complex, multi-faceted software applications. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions.

Primary Responsibilities: Leads and mentors engineering teams, driving technical strategy and ensuring successful delivery of business objectives. Defines and executes technology roadmaps, delivering scalable and innovative solutions for complex challenges. Collaborates with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align technical initiatives with organizational goals. Oversees the full project life cycle for multi-platform programs, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery. Promotes best practices in software development, architecture, and quality assurance across the organization. Fosters a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and team development to maintain a competitive advantage. Provides technical mentorship to team members, guiding them through challenges and leading them toward successful outcomes.

Requirements & Skills

Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Software Engineering (or closely related occupation) delivering data solutions for Master Data Management (MDM) focused on person-related data, leveraging mainframe, Java, and Oracle technologies. Or, alternatively, Master's degree and four (4) years of equivalent experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated Expertise executing mainframe application development, test automation, and support using COBOL, CICS, Java, Web Services, and SQL; File-Aid; Endeavor/Endevor; Intertest and Abend-Aid; Control-M. Mainframe application development and performance tuning within TSO and MVS; Endevor, Git, ClearCase; Strobe, iStrobe, Platinum Detector, and TMON.
