ICETOOL U1095 - output still usable? SORTDIAG related?

Nightly ICETOOL step got U1095. Messages said DFSORT terminated during phase S but also "OUTPUT IS USEABLE." Resubmit later worked.

We have //SORTDIAG DD SYSOUT=*. Frank Yaeger-ish advice floating around says remove it. Safe?

SORTDIAG can surface (or trip over) problems that a normal run skips. Removing it may stop the abend. It does not fix the underlying defect.

If the message says SORTOUT was closed before the error, the file may be complete. I still would not trust it for money without a compare to a clean run. Open a PMR if it repeats.
