Protected entry threads for DB2 - worth enabling?

Noticed our CICS regions do not use protected entry threads for DB2 attach. IBM docs mention tradeoffs with thread reuse and post-TPS lock behavior.

For a region doing steady OLTP with moderate DB2 calls, is turning protected threads on usually a win or a headache?

We enabled it on two pilot regions. CPU dropped a little on high volume transactions. Took a while to tune pool sizes afterward.
