Channels and containers vs COMMAREA - when did you switch?

Still seeing new programs written with 32K COMMAREA in 2026. We have channels/containers available. I keep telling people COMMAREA is fine until it is not, then the rewrite hurts.

For a new web service style transaction that already needs more than a few K between programs, do you start on channels from day one?

Anything new that might grow past a few KB starts on channels. COMMAREA only for tiny legacy handoffs we are not touching.

Just learned containers last month. PUT/GET CONTAINER felt clearer than packing a giant linkage section, once the examples clicked.
