DFSORT step SB37 on SORTOUT. SPACE=(CYL,(100,50)). Volume is not full according to ops. Job has run for months.

Input volume jumped this week. Do I just throw more cylinders at it or is there a smarter fix (multi-volume, RLSE, something else)?

SB37 = could not get another extent on that volume. Bumping SPACE helps short term. For growth like this we add DATACLAS / multi-volume or write to a GDG so each run is a fresh size.

Check if SMS is steering you to a volume with no room even when other vols are fine.

Also know SD37 (no secondary) vs SE37 (directory or max volumes). People paste the wrong abend code in tickets all the time.

Was SB37. Moved to multi-volume SMS class. Next run clean.
